The Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Initiative was spearheaded by teenagers across the nation who chose to take a stand and put a stop to teen dating violence.

Teens who are victims in high school are at higher risk for victimization during college.

CDC's Division of Violence Prevention is leading the initiative, Dating MattersĀ® : Strategies to Promote Healthy Teen Relationships.

During the month of February, the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services (OCJS), a division of the Ohio Department of Public Safety, is recognizing National Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month.

Dating Matters supports efforts to implement prevention strategies in schools, with families, and in neighborhoods.

The Dating Matters Capacity Assessment and Planning Tool (DM-CAPT) is an online system that helps local health departments and their school and community partners assess and monitor their capacity for implementing a comprehensive teen dating violence initiative.Now supported by dozens of national, state and local organizations, the call to end teen dating violence was formally recognized by Congress in 2006.At that time, both Houses of Congress declared the first full week in February "National Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Week."
